A Lesson on Opportunities

If you are walking on a street and see this piece of paper, what would you do?

Is it worth bending over and picking it up? Is it worth checking out? What if you didn't mind it and the person following you suddenly exclaims in joy over his find? What if you picked it up and when you opened it, it turns out to be three people staring back at you?

Here's a story I've heard from Jennifer, a successful lady from Thailand whose greatest achievement (I think) is looking 10 years younger than her actual age.. There was once a rich beautiful lady with a servant working for her. The lady was very kind and nice as well and was married to a not-so-good-looking man. The servant had always been curious why the beautiful lady married such man but she never had a chance to ask as the husband was often with his beautiful wife. One day, the beautiful lady was alone in the house with the servant. Trying to gain some confidence to ask, the servant approached the lady. "Ma'm, I hope you don't mind me asking but I've always wondered how come you married your husband." The lady laughed at the boldness of the servant but sent her off to the garden to look for the most beautiful flower and she' ll get the answer when she returns. She was given half an hour to search for the most beautiful flower. She found a pretty flower but at the back of her mind, she thinks there might be something else prettier. and that went on and on and she came to the end of the garden and was out of time. She picked what was in front of her and went back to the beautiful lady. 'So is this the prettiest in the garden?", asked the lady. "Actually, I've seen prettier ones but there wasn't enough time to go back," the servant replied. "You have the answer to your question," the lady said and went out of the room.

Before and Today

Some thoughts just struck me about how I was before I met Amway and how I am today being into it still.

Smart Buy Before means buying only when you need it
Smart Buy Today means buying things that gives you income

Before , it was buy and sell to earn
Today, it's buy and use to earn

Before, no sales no income
Today, even if you are spending, there's income.

It isn't just about getting rich. it's about getting a better life.

The Race of the Turtle and the Hare

Many are familiar with the story and we knew how it ended. But the story had a continuation and that I heard last Thursday from Diamond Danny in our Special meeting for Amway Diamonds.

So in the first race, the turtle won. Why – he persevered till the finish line, the hare was too proud and too sure that he lacked focus on his goal. But because the hare was too proud to accept defeat, he challenged the turtle for another race. Make a guess who won!

The turtle. He was wise, he got a bicycle and rode off. Lesson, if you want to achieve your goal faster, find the right tool.

The hare again, not to be outdone, challenged the turtle for another race. This time, he got a jet propelled car. Can you make a guess who won? Again, the turtle. Why? The hare didn’t know how to drive the car and it went the other way. Lesson, when you have the tool, know how to use it well. Same goes for your business, know your products (attend seminars, ask your upline questions and do your research and most of all get first hand experience by using the product. Then know your marketing plan. Build your confidence by sharing what you know. The more you talk to people, the more you learn to accept rejections and failures, the more you hone your communication skills, and the more you learn the better approach – again a first hand experience.

Special Training with the Billionaire

:: Special Training with Mr. Mark Lei Oct. 09, 2010

In our life, we need Vitamin M. Do you know, that? Vitamin M – MONEY. Like the body that needs nutrients to function well, we also need money in our life. That’s why we do Amway. It’s our source of Vitamin M.

Attendance is important, very important.  If people don’t know how to do Amway but just attend again and again and again, they will learn. Take the example of Olympic  Championship. They do the same thing again and again. The Chinese dives for example keep diving. When they are on their own, they dive and dive. When the coach comes, the coach tells them to dive some more. 4 years they practice to dive and compete after that.  But how many people get the first place? Only 1. How many people compete – thousands.

But in Amway, it dos not matter whether you are champion. If this is a race, it doesn’t matter whether you are champion or not. What matters is that you pass the finish line. Pass the line to earn the Vitamin M. There is no need to compete with others.

Mr. Mark Lei used himself to be an example:

See the Goal, Not the Obstacle

As children, almost everyone must have had a big dream. But as we get older, we are faced with the difficult reality. People can react in two ways, they may reduce their dream to fit the reality, or they improve the reality to fit their dreams. The first kind often live to survive but the latter kinds are the type of people who succeed and help others survive.

Hardships and obstacles are part of life. To stand after a fall is a decision. It's an action of the will. You can choose to remain on the ground, or you can choose to go on. you can choose to be strengthened by difficulties or you can choose to back out and be bullied by them.
