A Lesson on Opportunities

If you are walking on a street and see this piece of paper, what would you do?


Is it worth bending over and picking it up? Is it worth checking out? What if you didn't mind it and the person following you suddenly exclaims in joy over his find? What if you picked it up and when you opened it, it turns out to be three people staring back at you?

Here's a story I've heard from Jennifer, a successful lady from Thailand whose greatest achievement (I think) is looking 10 years younger than her actual age.. There was once a rich beautiful lady with a servant working for her. The lady was very kind and nice as well and was married to a not-so-good-looking man. The servant had always been curious why the beautiful lady married such man but she never had a chance to ask as the husband was often with his beautiful wife. One day, the beautiful lady was alone in the house with the servant. Trying to gain some confidence to ask, the servant approached the lady. "Ma'm, I hope you don't mind me asking but I've always wondered how come you married your husband." The lady laughed at the boldness of the servant but sent her off to the garden to look for the most beautiful flower and she' ll get the answer when she returns. She was given half an hour to search for the most beautiful flower. She found a pretty flower but at the back of her mind, she thinks there might be something else prettier. and that went on and on and she came to the end of the garden and was out of time. She picked what was in front of her and went back to the beautiful lady. 'So is this the prettiest in the garden?", asked the lady. "Actually, I've seen prettier ones but there wasn't enough time to go back," the servant replied. "You have the answer to your question," the lady said and went out of the room.

 --Lesson of the story-- Opportunities lost are gone forever. You may have your second chances but you've lost already the time to have had enjoyed or made good use of something if you've decided to take the opportunity when it first came about. Everyday, an opportunity awaits. Everyday, you have to make a decision which can have a great impact on your life and in the life of others. Do You Want a Better Life?

DO YOU WANT TO BE RICH?

Most people would find the idea of becoming rich repugnant. I don't why but when I tell some people I do business, they tease me I might get rich. Maybe to them being rich is out of their league. To them, it's simply impossible to become one. To them, someone rich would be a snobbish classy busy individual who is a target for goons to kidnap for ransom. Whatever the reason is, becoming rich is simply out of the question.

What if I rephrase my question and ask, DO YOU WANT A BETTER LIFE?

Let me explain further what a better life is:


Retiring and having enough money to live on without working or relying on your meager pension or other people's money.

Retiring young and enjoying life before you get all the diseases your father and mother had.

Not having to go to work and calling a month's off and still get paid. Make that a year off and having vacation with your family, and still get paid.

Giving your parents better health by paying for their supplements and giving them extravagant gifts on special occasions.

Having food stored in the fridge and cupboard.

Not worrying about bills if the utility companies suddenly decided to increase their prices.

Not having to wait for your salary to buy something which you need.

Buying your house with cash and without the need to pay mortgage until you retire.

... The list can be endless. You have your own idea of what a better life is.

Put it this way, Better Life isn't just having the money. It means having freedom, time and good health. Simply earning money can make you afford a watch but not time; a bed but not sleep; a house but not home; medicine but not life.

Before and Today

Some thoughts just struck me about how I was before I met Amway and how I am today being into it still.

Smart Buy Before means buying only when you need it
Smart Buy Today means buying things that gives you income

Before , it was buy and sell to earn
Today, it's buy and use to earn

Before, no sales no income
Today, even if you are spending, there's income.


It isn't just about getting rich. it's about getting a better life.

*Where can you find a business whose capital is only P1000 and you can possibly earn millions after some years?

See the Goal, Not the Obstacle

As children, almost everyone must have had a big dream. But as we get older, we are faced with the difficult reality. People can react in two ways, they may reduce their dream to fit the reality, or they improve the reality to fit their dreams. The first kind often live to survive but the latter kinds are the type of people who succeed and help others survive.

Hardships and obstacles are part of life. To stand after a fall is a decision. It's an action of the will. You can choose to remain on the ground, or you can choose to go on. you can choose to be strengthened by difficulties or you can choose to back out and be bullied by them.
