Maan National High School, located at Brgy. Maan Tboli South Cotabato with its advocacy driven young educators is passionately serving IP communities through collective and constructive approach in attaining its mission-vision for sustainable development, education and IP Empowerment.
In the onset of the K – 12 Curriculum and ASEAN Integration in the recent years, MNHS through its faculty and staff is initiating programs, projects and activities centered on the education of the young. These programs are designed to serve IP students for them to cope up with the demands of the 21 st Century Education. Moreover and most importantly, the school serves students who live in far-flung sitios trudging miles of footpath just to reach the school where they bring along with them their dreams to finish schooling and be equipped despite social and pecuniary dilemma. We strongly believe that these children will have brighter future ahead. Right now, they need support and motivation to pursue and persist.
This year, the school has organized various programs and projects for the sustainable development of the IP communities. The MNHS SALT 1-4 Demo Farm Project, arming Career Guidance, and the recently Seminar Workshops on Adolescent Hygiene Awareness thru Arts and Early Sexual Encounter (ESE), Early Pregnancy and Early Marriage: Factors, Consequences and Options along with Educational Support and Feeding Programs for the IP high school students manifested the affectivity of a collective leadership that the steering committee and various stakeholders have made.
In view of sustaining this advocacy, the school and its partners will be conducting community outreach programs, which will be comprised of child friendly activities, school building rehabilitation (Bayanihan) mini medical mission, and feeding program along with Upland Backyard Gardening and Livelihood seminar workshops on March 10 - 11, 2017 at Sitio Lamdamay, Brgy. Maan Tboli South Cotabato. Primary beneficiary of the program are the elementary students of Lamdamay IP School and their parents and of course, to assist the volunteer teachers assigned in the area.
