How to Get Enough Vitamin C the Healthy Way

Vitamin C is an essential vitamin for our body to function well. Vitamin C helps in the repair of tissues, improves the immune system, and is used in the synthesis of collagen, an important component of ligaments, blood vessels, bone and tendons.  It is also a powerful antioxidant to prevent free radicals from attacking our healthy cells and causing cancer.

Ironically, our body does not produce it so our main source is basically our diet. Since grade school maybe, we have been aware of citrus fruits being the richest source of Vitamin C. Nevertheless, studies have already been conducted since 1950 proving that a green cherry, the acerola, is far more superior in Vitamin C content than oranges. (Know about the studies) . This is the very same fruit that Nutrilite, the health supplement brand of Amway, has been planting and harvesting in it's own certified organic farms and had concentrated to a chewable tablet.

Unlike synthetic ascorbic acids that are merely manufactured  with/or from chemicals, Nutrilite's Acerola C is a natural source of vitamin C thus it  DOES NOT endanger your excretory system  and DOES NOT make your stomach acidic. It is plant based and has lemon bioflavonoids added so you get the same nutritional benefits as when you are eating oranges. It's not just plain Vitamin C at work  but Vitamin C and the phytonutrients!

This is a result of a chromatography test done to compare the effect of Nutrilite Vitamin C and Synthetic Vitamin C.  It shows that after a longer period of time, some nutrients are still retained in the body of those who take Nutrilite Acerola C. Synthetic Vitamin C peaks one time and those in excess goes out with the urine.

The recommended daily allowance for vitamin C is 60 mg. However, because of our exposure to free radicals, the body's need might increase to about 75 mg. Acerola C provides 100 mg. Sickness and diseases can also increase the body's need of Vitamin C.  For diseases and illnesses, higher dosage will be recommended by physicians. Please see your doctors when it pertains to medications.
